It is evident that people with limited cognitive, language and learning abilities have diverse accessibility needs and preferences and that there is a need for further guidelines and standards. Research in this area is ongoing.

Relevant standardisation work is currently being undertaken by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). WAI are working to improve the requirements and technical guidance for developers, to better address Web accessibility for people with limited cognitive, language and learning abilities.
