Addressing Barriers at Federally Regulated Gateways to Legal Capacity
Information
Goal of the study
The study will identify legal capacity gateways in the federal government that structure the way in which people with developmental, cognitive, psychological and communication disabilities make their own decisions.
They will recommend ways in which federally regulated organizations can support and accommodate people who experience difficulties when making decisions, entering into contracts or providing consent to services or agreements. The research will focus on financial institutions, government programs and services, and federally regulated administrative tribunals.
