Unlocking Understanding: Assessing the functional accessibility of plain language in federal government communications

This research will review Plain Language communication within federal government programs and services. It will assess whether what is considered as Plain Language addresses the needs of low-literacy individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The research could provide input into accessibility standards including the standard for Plain Language (CAN/ASC-3.1).
