Goal of the study

Communication is a fundamental right and an important part of accessing government programs and services. For some people with Level 0-1 literacy, plain language might still be too complicated which can create exclusions. Many people with disabilities face barriers to understanding and engaging with programs and services because of complex language. This study will research the accessibility of plain language communication in government programs and services. It will also explore alternative formats, such as Easy Read documents.
