Roadmap to 2040

The Roadmap is designed to help Accessibility Standards Canada fulfill its mandate. It includes milestones, timelines, and a clear plan to guide the organization’s work until January 1, 2040.

Accessibility plans

The Accessibility Plan outlines how Accessibility Standards Canada will identify, remove and prevent barriers across its organization. Guided by the Accessible Canada Act, the plan supports the goal of a barrier-free Canada by 2040 and sets out actions to improve accessibility, inclusion and equitable participation for persons with disabilities.

Quarterly financial reports

The Financial Administration Act requires that departments, agencies and Crown corporations publish a quarterly financial report for the first three quarters of each fiscal year.

2021 to 2022 fiscal year

Exemptions

Annual Reports

Following an Order in Council, which came into force on May 20, 2026, our organization is exempt from producing annual reports. 

For more information on the Order, consult the Canada Gazette, Part 2, Volume 160, Number 10: Order in Council Directing that the Annual Report of the Canadian Accessibility Standards Development Organization Be Discontinued.

Departmental Sustainable Development Strategy

Following an Order in Council amending the Federal Sustainable Development Act (FSDA), which came into force on February 13, 2026, our organization is exempt from producing a Departmental sustainable development strategy and annual sustainable development reports.
